Yellow Roses From My "Hunny"

Actually, I often refer to him as "Dr. Bobby Hunny" (mostly, just Robert)...my husband of 28 years, as of yesterday, gave me my favorite roses...yellow....
As a young girl, growing up on a farm in Kansas, my Mama always put them in my room on my birthday, as we had a yellow rose bush....brings back loving memories....

  1. Lovely photos! Thanks for sharing.
I also have very fond memories of flowers, one of yellow roses as well! My first grown up house was a row home in Quakertown, about 40 mile north of Philadelphia. A previous owner had planted a yellow climbing rose in the yard. I trained it to bow over my walk. It was the highlight of my tiny back yard.
Flowers are a real blessing from above!

  5. Georgetown...several years ago my hubby and I stayed there at a Bed and Breakfast....The only rosebush my mother had when I was growing up was yellow. I have fond memories of my mother cutting a flower off and wrapping it up in a wet paper towel for me to take to my teacher. She did that every year. When she died I planted a yellow rosebush in memory of her.
